Research interests
My original research interest is the phylogeny and biodiversity of the largest group of fungi: the Ascomycota. Therein cup-fungi (Helotiales, Leotiales), powdery mildews, Xylariales and lichenicolous fungi were objects of former projects and publications. In the last 20 years I switched to biodiversity informatics, see, e. g., Open Access Paper on Megascience Platforms, pdf. Within this field my focus is now on setting up concepts and IT infrastructure for the management, archiving and access of collection data, any type of research data from biodiversity and ecological projects and data from (citizen science) monitoring projects.
